simplesilver™ slowly releases silicon, oxides and silver ions into the pool over a 12 month period, at a controlled and consistent rate as water passes over the simplesilver™ block.

simplesilver™ is self regulating, requiring no further maintenance once the 7 day decontamination process is complete.

The ingredients contained within the product combine to form polymers that purify the water by precipitating contaminants and limit the formation of calcium carbonate (scale), corrosion and other bacteria. Positively charged silver ions, remain stable in water and are very effective in inhibiting growth of bacteria.

Instructions For Use...

IT’S SIMPLE:

Whether your spa pool is:

  • Newly purchased.
  • You have an existing spa pool.
  • Or you have been using chemicals or other water treatments.

The decontamination process is the same!

Before proceeding, ensure that your spa pool has an adjustable filter cycle timer that can operate the filter circulation pump, for 4 -8 hours daily. If not, contact your electrician who can simply fit one to your spa pool. For spa pools with a 24 hour, 7day filter pump, please leave in this mode.

  1. Ensure your filters are clean by using a recommended filter cleansing solution (water alone will not be sufficient).

  2. Submerge the simplesilver™ block into the spa pool where it is convenient. If you have been using conventional chemicals in your new or existing spa pool, there is no need to drain or change the water at this stage. If your spa pool has an ozone system, leave it operational.

  3. Set your filter pump timer to operate daily, for as long as possible, or for a minimum of 8 hours per day, for the first 7 days, with the water temperature set between 35-40ºC.

  4. Do not use the hot tub over this 7 day decontamination period.

  5. Clean the filters every second day with a recommended cleansing solution to assist in removing contamination.

  6. After day 7, drain the spa pool, irrespective of the water condition (cloudy or clear). Clean the inside of the spa pool, the filters with a recommended cleansing solution and rinse the simplesilver™ block in warm water. Then refill the spa pool with fresh water.

  7. Submerge the simplesilver™ block back into the spa pool where convenient.

  8. As there are many spa pools with different size pumps, water flow rates and operating parameters, we suggest the following:

    • For spa pools with a continuous 24 hour, 7 day filter circulation pump, please leave in this mode.
    • If your spa pool has a filter circulation pump that operates at various times throughout the day, then set    the filter cycle timer to operate for as long as possible in a 24 hour period. Once the water remains    crystal clear and odourless whilst bathing, the time setting for filtering can be gradually decreased until    the optimum set point is achieved. However ensure that the filter pump operates for a combined    minimum period of 4 hours per day.

  9. Congratulations, you can now use your spa pool and enjoy the benefits of a hassle free environment for the next 12 months.

  10. After you exit the spa pool, we recommend that you run the jet massage or filter pump so that water movement over the simplesilver™ block is achieved. This ensures quick decontamination of the spa pool after use. For convenience, use the pump that has the 20 minute automatic off timer.

  11. Your spa pool water will need no further maintenance, apart from normal weekly filter cleaning.

  12. In approximately 12 months, your simplesilver™ block will need replacing. At this stage, you will notice that the water will become cloudy and deterioration of water quality will occur. Do not use the spa pool. Purchase a new block of simplesilver™.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers...

  1. When not to use the Spa Pool?
You must not use the spa pool, if the water is not crystal clear or if there is an odour present.

  2. How much simplesilver™ do I need to use?
One 500g simplesilver™ block controls pools of up to 1,500 litres for a 12 month period. If the pool water volume is greater than 1,500 litres, then additional 500g or 1kg blocks must be used.

  3. Why is it very important that the filter cycle pump operates for a minimum of 4 hours daily?
The only way the simplesilver™ ingredients can be dispensed into the spa pool water is by having water flowing over the block. If this does not occur, the water will not be effectively treated. Depending on frequency of use, spa pool loading, pump size and flow rates, the minimum time setting of 4 hours per day may need to be increased to suit your circumstances.

  4. Why is it very important that your filters are kept clean?
For good water management, it is very important to regularly clean your filters on a weekly basis with a recommended cleansing solution. The filters remove body fats and other solid matter from the spa pool. simplesilver™ requires a certain volume of water to circulate over it daily. If your filter is partially blocked, the volume of water flowing over the simplesilver™ block will be reduced and this will diminish its effectiveness.

  5. What do I need to do after the 7 day decontamination process has been completed?
[1] Once the 7 day decontamination process is complete, the filter cycle pump can be reset to operate for a minimum of 4 hours per day. This time setting will depend on your spa pool flow rate, loading and frequency of use.
[2] Ensure that water flows over the simplesilver™ block during the filter cycle programme. This is so the product can be dispensed into the water to remove and control bacteria, pH, scale, corrosion & TDS levels within your spa pool.
[3] If the circulation pumpdoes not operate for this minimum 4 hour daily period, or the volume of circulated water is diminished (ie. dirty filter), the water will become cloudy and smelly. If this happens, do not use the spa pool as it is contaminated.
[4] Please ensure your spa pool has an adjustable filter cycle programme, if not, contact your electrician to make this minor alteration.

  6. Do I need to use any other chemicals or products to maintain the spa pool water?
    No.

  7. Do I need to drain the water prior to putting the simplesilver™ into the spa pool?
No, simplesilver™ will not be affected by any of the existing chemicals in your spa pool.

  8. Can I use the spa pools ozone system with simplesilver™?
    Yes.

  9. Can the spa pool be used with a water fragrance?
    Yes.

  10. Where do I place the simplesilver™ block?
Place the simplesilver™ block in the most convenient location for you.

  11. What do I do after I have installed the simplesilver™ block?
Refer to the “How to use simplesilver™” section.

  12. What do I do after exiting the spa pool after use?
After you exit the spa pool, we recommend that you run the jet massage or filter pump so that water movement over the simplesilver™ block is achieved. This ensures quick decontamination of the spa pool after use. For convenience, use the pump that has the 20 minute automatic off timer.

  13. What do I do after the spa pool is decontaminated and the water is crystal clear?
Nothing, there is no maintenance, apart from regular weekly filter cleaning.

  14. When do I clean the filter?
Complete your filter cleaning process with a recommended filter cleansing solution on a weekly basis or as per the manufacturers instructions.

  15. When do I change the spa pool water?
You can change the water at any stage that you feel is appropriate. This will not affect the simplesilver™ life span.

  16. How long does the simplesilver™ last?
[1] Under normal use, simplesilver™ will control your spa pool water for 12months.
[2] Should you wish to drain your spa pool and remove the simplesilver™ block, it must be kept dry and can be reinstalled at any stage.
[3] When reinstalled, the simplesilver™ block will last for the remaining life span.

  17. What happens when I go on holiday or the spa pool is not in use for long periods?
[1] Nothing, the spa pool water will be maintained in the same condition so long as the filter cycle pump & spa pool temperature is left to operate as outlined.
[2] When back from holiday, no hard work or water drain down is required.
[3] If you intend not to use your spa pool for long periods, drain the spa pool water and store the simplesilver™ block in a dry location.

  18. Can other products such as chlorine be used in conjunction with simplesilver™?
Yes, but you should not need to do this.

  19. How do I control the pH, scale, corrosion and TDS?
Your simplesilver™ block is self regulating and as such, there is nothing you need to do.
